Under the Mud hits the Streets
November 2009
A low budget film featuring former students of Liverpool Community College has gone on sale this month. Under the Mud saw the Liverpool lads act as co-writers of the script, become members of the cast and form part of the location sound crew.
Filmed in Garston, the story depicts a hectic day in the life of the family from hell…or are they one hell of a family?!
Despite the acclaim from critics and film fans alike, the film will not see general release due to its lack of big Hollywood names. The Guardian said: “…Under The Mud may be the best British film you’ll never see.”.
A spokesperson for the film said: “We know there’s an audience out there, with plenty of people who already love Under The Mud, so we’ve decided to go it alone. We’ve got DVDs ready to sell; we just need to tell people about it.”
The DVD is on sale now at your local HMV, Borders, and Asda stores on Merseyside. For more information about the film or on how to pledge your support logon to www.underthemud.com
