Student caps successful season
Liverpool Community College football team are English College League Champions for 2008/9. The team finished top after an impressive season, dropping only one game throughout the whole campaign.
College student Jacob Baptista was selected for the English Schools FA representing his country against Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The centre-midfielder also scored the match’s only goal in a 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland and made his final appearance against France at Wembley.
18 year old Jacob from Aigburth studied for an NVQ level 2 in Football Coaching and concluded his time in college by collecting an Outstanding Achievement Award in June.
Wrexham FC is amongst the clubs who have shown an interest in Jacob and he hopes to play football full time next season.
