Accessing the Service
How Do I Access the Service? It’s very easy to arrangeTelephone 0151 252 3777
You will be connected to a confidential voicemail. If you leave your first name, a contact number and best time to return your call, a counsellor will get back to you as soon as possible to arrange an appointment. Or you can use an internal phone by dialling 3777 to access the voicemail. Student Services staff or your tutor can call on your behalf if you ask.
Is What We Talk About Confidential?
What happens in the sessions is confidential between you and the counsellor with certain exceptions. There may be some things that cannot be kept confidential, i.e. child abuse, acts of terrorism, serious criminal acts, threats to harm yourself or someone else. The counsellor will discuss this with you.
All counsellors are required to have their work supervised as per the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Code of Ethics (copies available on request).
You will not be identified in any way to the supervisor.
Notes made at the initial assessment, which you are asked to read, clarify and amend as appropriate, are securely stored. Nobody outside the Counselling team will have access to these unless you authorise it in writing.
No data is held on computer systems or passed to the college or your tutors.
If you have any further questions, want to talk over any concerns, or to make an appointment, call 0151 252 3777
The service is free to enrolled students, confidential, and here to support you through any difficulties.
